PROCEDURE OVERVIEW

FIBROID RADIOFREQUENCY ABLATION

Women with symptomatic uterine fibroids endure heavy menstrual bleeding, painful menstruation, abdominal distension, pelvic pain, and urinary frequency. Symptoms often worsen over time, leading to deterioration in quality of life and loss of normal function. For many, major surgery (hysterectomy) becomes the only option offered by physicians.

Now there is another option: the FDA-cleared Acessa™ procedure invented by Dr. Bruce Lee.

DR. BRUCE LEE SETS SAIL TO CATALINA ON HEATHER DUBROW’S WORLD

Heather welcomes The Doctor’s Dr Bruce Lee OB-GYN and his work treating uterine fibroids with his revolutionary new strategy.

DR. BRUCE LEE FEATURED ON “THE DOCTORS”

OB-GYN Dr. Bruce Lee, creator of the Acessa procedure, explains that the new surgical option involves creating just two small incisions in the abdomen, inserting a needle into the tumor and using radiofrequency energy to destroy it while leaving the uterus intact. The tumor is then reabsorbed into the surrounding tissue and is not likely to return. The procedure allows for a rapid recovery, compared to hysterectomy, a low rate of recurrence and minimal post-operative pain. Dr. Lee believes his procedure can reduce the number of unnecessary hysterectomies performed each year.

Michelle and Dr. Lee join The Doctors onstage, and Michelle says she’s feeling great after undergoing the procedure to remove nine fibroids.

TESTIMONIALS

“I felt the difference. I didn’t feel those hard knots down in my lower belly. I didn’t feel that dense muscle mass sensation down there that made me feel so stiff.”
